I believe that or country is, as a whole, economically strong and likely to stay that way for a while. From improving jobs and extra cash on hand to declining virus cases, the optimism of Springtime is here! It’s particularly encouraging to see people I care about getting their vaccinations and beginning to visit family and friends again.
As of this writing, I haven’t gotten the virus yet (knock on wood, salt over shoulder, etc.), but I know a lot of good people that have. Somedays it feels like a game, other days it feels like a Twilight Zone episode. All days are a lesson in managing risk.
After almost 6 months and counting, the pandemic has created a new ‘normal’ for all of us. Mostly, we are doing less – less haircuts, less dinner out, less travel, less group sports, less happy-hours, less seeing friends …. It is having an effect and no one is immune from moments of frustration and pessimism.
Due to weeks of frequent washings, the skin on the back of my hands looks like paper mache
on a Jackson Pollock Painting! That is pretty much the extent of my personal suffering during
the Pandemic. Thank you to those that are doing the important work to keep us safe!
